]]> The SLEE front bumper for the Land Cruiser 250 was designed to match the styling and features of the vehicle to appear as a OE product.  The bumper is constructed from 3/8″ thick plate steel mounts that attach to the vehicle frame horns both where the factory bumper and crash pad attached as well as further back on the frame. With integrated tow points this basis of the bumper provides the strength for the winch cradle as well as the whole center section of the bumper. Additional strength is obtained from the formed 7ga HSLA center section.

High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) has nearly twice the strength and  impact resistance of general purpose mild steel (A1011 and A36). 30-36ksi Yield strength vs 50ksi yield strength minimum.

The bolt on wings are formed out of the same 7GA material with internal gussets to ensure optimal strength. The wing design increases approach angle along with complete splash shields under the bumper wings. The wings are also designed to improve tire clearance.

Increased ground clearance over OEM bumper

Openings on the top and front of the bumper for easy visibility of the winch drum.  The winch is also mounted to the center section that ties directly to the frame. There is also provisions to install a winch drum light. The bumper fits most low mount winches and some integrated solenoid winches. Winch installation requires a 6 pin plug extension to relocate the winch controller plug to the front of the bumper.

The center section has provision to mount 4″ lights with specific trim rings provided for the Nacho Quattro lights. The removable upper light bar is designed to accommodate up to 4 Nacho Grande lights utilizing their proprietary tube clamp attachment. Numerous holes are provided to ease in securing wire harnesses with zip- ties for both light, park sensor and winch wiring.

The park sensors are retained and installed using customer park sensor grommets. The OE camera (if present) is relocated to the center section. Brackets are provided to mount the cross traffic sensors (if so equipped) on the inner fender, but they will not function. No dash lights will be present. The bumper also has provision for an air coupler to be mounted on the front face.

It also accepts Nacho Quattro lights (or any similarly sized light) as well as provisions in the stinger for a Baja S8, ONX6 or Rigid style light bar. The stinger also has mounting locations for winch controller plugs and air quick connects.

]]> The Slee ShortBus™ bumper is a production version of the bumper that we used for 5 years on the ShortBus truck. This bumper has been tested on some of the most challenging trails in the US. It has survived the Rubicon, Mob, South Dakota and some of the best trails we have to offer in Colorado.

We took the original design, improved on it and now offer this as a production bumper. The idea behind the design is a lightweight bumper, excellent approach angles, accommodate a winch yet be super strong.

The bumper is formed out of 3/16″ steel with 3/8″ plate used for the integrated frame mounts / recover point brackets. 1.75″ and 1.5″ DOM tubing is used for the tubular protection. The bumper weighs in at just under 90lbs without a winch, making it one of the lightest available on the market.

Using an aluminum hawse fairlead not only improves the approach angles, but also allow for the running of synthetic rope. Using rope will add to the weight saving. However if you choose to run steel rope, we suggest using a metal hawse fairlead.

The bumper mounts to 12 existing holes on the frame. The bumper is supplied with all mounting hardware. The tow points are part of the mounting system and actually extend behind the bumper to form the sides of the mounting system. Recovery loads are transferred to the frame, instead of the bumper face.

Two pairs of light mount tabs are welded onto the bumper. One set is located on top of middle tube, and one set in the “valleys” where the tubing meets.

The bumper is coated in our four step process that includes sand blasting, washing, Zinc rich primer and then topcoat to ensure a durable finish.

]]> In 2007 we built the BlueBerry truck. The truck was a Solid Axle Swap on a 1998 Land Cruiser. The front bumper was a one-off custom that we did to as a winch platform, yet give us great approach and departure angles. The looks of this bumper created quite a stir in the 100 community at the time. Subsequent to that we produced the original Blueberry bumper that had a huge following and was proven to be a very strong bumper enjoyed by people that put their 100 series through the rigner. Now in 2022 with the operning of our new fabrication facility we decided to refresh the Blueberry and produce V2. This bumper is constructed the same as the previous bumper but now feature a removable stinger that can mount a variety of light bars. The stinger also has mounting locations for winch controller plugs and air quick connects. The bumper was also upgraded to now have fog light provisions in the wings. The Slee steel front bumper boasts a mix of 3/16", 3/8” and 1/4” CNC cut and formed steel and gusseted wings.

Bumper shell is now made from High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) has nearly twice the strength and  impact resistance of general purpose mild steel (A1011 and A36). 30-36ksi Yield strength vs 50ksi yield strength minimum.

This front bumper is designed inline with the Slee Rear Bumper. The mounting bracket boasts eight (8) bolts per frame rail (16 bolts in total) to firmly secure to the frame of your 200 series. All factory safety features (parking sensors, pre-collision, radar cruise control and front facing camera) have been retained. Recovery points are integrated into the mounting brackets and designed to pull in-line with the frame for greater strength. The center splash plate is compatible with OE and Slee skid plates.

** Note: - Some videos and photos might depict an older version of the stinger. The basic shape is the same, however the winch connectors and air chucks are now located under the stinger and not on top of the stinger.

Integrated Baja Design S2 Sport and parking sensor grommet

Upswept wings are included for optimum approach angle along with complete splash shields under the bumper wings. The winch line is easy to access for ease of use. The winch is also mounted to a winch plate that ties directly to the frame instead of the commonly used mounting to the back of the bumper cover. There is also optional Baja Design winch drum illumination. The bumper includes solenoid mounts for the  ComeUp 9.5 and 12.5 winch along with Warn Zeon winches. Winch installation requires a 6 pin plug extension and Warn Zeon winches require the control box relocation kit.
