Description
The 80 Series Belly plate is a complete underbody protection plate for the transfer case with limited loss of clearance. The plate replaces the factory cross member and bolts on utilizing factory hole locations.
The skid plate is made from 3/16″ (7ga) HSLA, machine cut and bent, sandblasted and then powder coated for durability and corrosion protection.
High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) has nearly twice the strength and impact resistance of general purpose mild steel (A1011 and A36). 30-36ksi Yield strength vs 50ksi yield strength minimum.
Holes facilitate fluid draining without the need to remove the skid plate as well as venting for heat dissipation.
The plate features no exposed hardware on the bottom surface to prevent damaging bolt heads when sliding over rocks.
* – On 1991/92 model FJ80’s the drain hole on the skid pate will not line up with the drain plug on the transfer case. However fitment is the same.
