Two men are on the run and three are in hospital after a triple-stabbing at a Melbourne CBD strip club.
An altercation broke out at the Men’s Gallery, at the corner of King and Lonsdale streets, about 6am on Sunday.
Two men, a 23-year-old from Dingley Village and a 20-year-old from Lysterfield, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A third man, a 20-year-old from Dingley Village, self-presented at hospital with a non-life-threatening arm injury.
Venue owner Peter Iwaniuk, who describes his club as “an iconic Melbourne brand like Moulin Rouge in Paris”, said the stabbing occurred in the club’s bathroom shortly before closing time.
“There was hardly anyone in the club at the time. We were winding down, getting ready to close,” he said.
“I’ve had this place more than 30 years and we’ve never had anything like this before.
“There are people coming in and out of the club all the time. We don’t have regular customers like a pub.”
No arrests have been made but police are searching for the two men who fled the scene. They believe the parties were known to each other.
The venue was cordoned off and the intersection of Lonsdale and King streets were closed as police investigated on Sunday morning.
Detectives are also probing the death of a man in Point Cook on Sunday afternoon.
Police believe an altercation between two men took place outside accommodation on Point Cook Road about 2.45pm.
One of the men died at the scene from suspected stab wounds, while a 28-year-old Diggers Rest man was arrested nearby.
